Find a drink and a woodfire somewhere.

It’s still cold but there are ways to brave it. I went on a mission to find best strategies and places to help keep warm and occupied with some events and good food. Who would disagree?

George Evans Collections new place
This week the Council voted on keeping the George Evans collection at the Sunbury Global learning Centre. The collection is a civic collection of artifacts and history items of the Sunbury and surrounding area. The original proposal had been to house the items in it’s own museum, maybe that might happen some day. Read more [ HERE ]
Council Names Drains
This week in the council meeting there is a proposal to seek a name change of certain drains. It is a way to reinforce the historical nature of the creeks, the drains, that they are apart of. It seems that this approach could help restore some type of behavioural change towards the way we all treat things that seem insignificant, but are essential ecosystems in our area. [ INFO ]
Free Sunday Swim Sessions
Did you know that your kids and a parent can go swimming for free? As apart of the response to easing the cost of living the council have opened up a free session. [ INFO ]

Max Brenners closes it doors.
It looks like the food truck scene is winning the desert space. The once famous name that opened up the chocolate bar/dessert place all over melbourne is slowly becoming a victim to the dessert bar craze it started. Max Brenners in Broadmeadows has closed it doors at Broadmeadows Central. I guess they didn’t stay innovative enough and the Dubai Chocolate craze has taken Its place.
Helping hands Roxburgh Park closing
Everyone is doing it tough. And another business is closing down. Helping Hands is a vital service for those in need and they are closing their Roxburgh Park store. They are currently having a closing down sale and there is only 1 day left to go. The store is located at 2/2-10 Reservoir Dr, Coolaroo. If you have some spare change and need a bargain you have 1 more day. [ INFO ]
Sunbury Woman Wins Tattslotto
Imagine getting a phone call and the person on the other end has confirmed something life changing. This day and age we meet phone calls as scams or sales people. But this phone call was different. It was to confirm you had the winning ticket to the lottery. Click here to see her response and how much she won. [ INFO ]
Get on the Beers
Mc Cracken are putting on an International Beer Day, Happy Hour this Friday the 1st of August from 4pm – 6pm. They are free flowing the amber fluid out of their taps for those who like a frothy or two. The good part about it, is you can then dine at the restaurant which is not too shabby either. They are located at Hyatt Place Melbourne Essendon Fields, 1A Larkin Blvd, Essendon Fields.
