Bird Flu on our Doorstep
This week I came across the article that is not from our area but close to it. Although we have seen media reports of Bird Flu stories slow down it is still a threat we need to know about. Now not to alarm everyone but there were cases of bird flu found in Kyneton. It might be a good time to start being a bit more alert about birds and sightings of strange behaviour of birds struggling to stand or sightings of dead birds. IT’S TIME TO BE A BIT MORE VIGILANT. The right course of action is to AVOID, RECORD, REPORT. [ INFO ]
Westmeadows Trifecta
I don’t do sports that often or I wouldn’t have enough space in the newsletter. But.. There is always an exception when you hear about the success stories of indivduals and clubs. What an incredible few weeks for the Westmeadows Football Club! They had the Mens Division 2 team win their Gand Finals along with Division 1 Womens and mixed U12’s Mixed premiership win, making it 3 premiership wins in one season. Well done you Awesome Humen’s!!! Not to mention they will have a shiny new pavillion to hang it all up in, very soon. [ INFO ]
Possum Alert
Did you know this is a critical time for possums? Why? because it’s possum breeding time and they are at their most vunulerable point. Lort Smith is urging people to take precautions to help keep the number of injured marsupials arriving at its hospital as low as possible. With possum breeding season now officially underway, animal hospitals across Victoria are expecting to see a significant spike in possums needing urgent and critical care. Lort Smith Animal Hospital reported 143 possums receiving care across its North Melbourne and Campbellfield sites in 2025. So far this year, more than 100 possums have arrived, with many more expected in coming months. So keep an eye out for kangaroos and now possums. [ INFO ]

Data Centre Watch
This Section is about informing everyone about how Data centres are causing a risk to our health and changing the area we all live in and love. I have been tracking what is going on for the whole area. Please let me know if you’d like me to write anything in particular.
Data centres new issue
A new article that I have just found is the one silver lining that might and I really do mean might! help ease the pain, is that data centres will increase your house price. According to the article, that because these monstrosity of envriomental damage centres are so big, it will cause a land shortage and therefore create scarcity for housing. Now I’m sure that no one wants to live near these things but buying a house near one might make financial sense? It’s a double edged sword!! [ INFO ]
