Hume Council News & Events
Homelessness Week
The Hume council are having an event this Week and by the time I publish this newsletter, the event would have passed. I felt compelled to write something to remind everyone, as I was given some advice years ago that shows it can happen to anyone. The advice goes like this. “Homelessness is only 2 bad decisions and 1 bit of bad luck away”. If there is anything you can do to help those who need it most, now would be the best time to do so because of the cold. A hot meal goes along way.
I also found an awesome initiative if anyone wants to donate [ INFO ]
Councils war on rubbish dumping
The council are now in full swing and have ramped up the “dob in a dumper” campaign. The council have a phone line you can call and you can also report rubbish crime via their app. [ INFO ] Watch out rubbish dumping offenders you’re on notice! Make use of the services provided by the council. [ INFO ]
Calendar of Freebies
We thought we would add events that are free or cost very little to attend. Check out the Council Calendar for this week [ INFO ]

Greenvale tennis club is getting revamped
Upgrades at Greenvale Tennis Club have commenced. The works aim to improve facilities, enhance player experience, and support broader community use, through modern inclusive club facilities. As part of the upgrades they will be constructing two new courts (courts 10 & 11), redeveloping three existing courts, (courts 5, 6 & 7) and also upgrading the lighting on the courts.
The works will also be conducted on some of the grounds, like installing new carpark lighting and upgrading the electrical mains to support the new build. Even the existing tennis club pavilion is getting a makeover making it modern for players, spectators and the broader community. [ INFO ]

Piano on Evans turns 3
This late night live music and dj venue in the heart of Sunbury is turning 3 this weekend. To celebrate they will have Dj Jettamine on the decks. Piano On Evans was started by Simon Ross, who is an accomplished musician and has a few other establishments, and saw the need to have a club in Sunbury 3 years ago, and his instincts were right. You could say, this is a unique place with offerings of live music one week, and a dj playing party favourites to the more upbeat tones. It is for all types that love to have a good time and they have a large drink choice as well. Get down there and see why it has been going as long as it has. Starting at 11pm [ INFO ] Piano on Evans is located at 67a Evans Street. Sunbury
Restaurant pick of the Week
Lush Rooftop and Bar
We are on the hunt to bring you different places that we think you will all like. This week we stumbled on a place that is still in our backyard but where no one thinks to look. I want to use the cliche’ “hidden gem” but it sits on a major road in Keilor Park. From the instagram vibe colour scheme to the rooftop bar, these guys are offering a place that is sure to delight. Fridays are live music nights with specials throughout the week, any day is a great day to go out and give this place a try. The food is second to none and caters for all tastes. We say HP ( HumePulse ) approved !!! [ INFO ]
Humes Local Heroes
Each week, it strikes me how generous this area is. I discovered that we all have a big heart and support those in need. Why I am blown away is, we have locals going above and beyond for others. The Hume area has a generous spirit, and nobody points that out. Thank you, Awesome Hume’ns.
Craigieburn players are local Heroes
Craigieburn Sporting clubs have come together to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Network Australia and this week have announced that $30,625.40 has been raised. This collective effort is a true testament to the power of community and collaboration.
This amazing achievement was made possible through the united efforts of the local sporting family Craigieburn Basketball Association, Craigieburn Willmott Golf Club, Sporty Storm Netball Club, Craigieburn Football Club and Craigieburn Sporting Club.
A warm thank you from the Community at large for showing the power of what can be achieved by working together.
