Hello Hume’ns (The awesome people of the Hume area). Another edition of your weekly skim for positive news, weekend plans and community highlights that you think is important or that you actually care about.

This week I wanted to share a heart felt story of a local family who’s struggle far exceed most of ours. I know we all are doing it tough, but this family has taught me that my life really ain’t that bad. If you can try and make it down to the fundraiser at Pockets on Sunday that would mean the world. Details are below in the article.

In this week’s Humepulse edition:

  • Council Celebration

  • Sammy Joe Fundraiser

  • Data Centre Watch

    and more …..

Sammy Joe Fundraiser @ Pockets

First of all you need to watch Arthur and the video of him meeting Sammy Joe. My heart broke to see a family and their son Sammy Joe struggle with living a life. This poor bloke needs oxygen to live and not to mention the rest of the drugs and support around the clock. His parents Maria & Joe taught me what real love looks like. This Sunday Pockets is holding a Fundraiser to raise $10,000 dollars for Sammys next lot of oxygen. Starting at 12pm and going till late Sunday, there will be 3 bands, some Smash burger goodness, raffles and other prizes. Please support this worthy cause. Awesome Hume’ns. Ford in Campbelfield hits capacity

Did you know that Ford in Campbellfield is alive and kicking? I didn’t, I just thought that the big office complex was a head office / admin complex. Turns out Ford are tricking out their Ford Rangers into quick fire emergency units and have been so successful that they have hit manfacuturing capacity. [ INFO ]

Developer goes on a Culling Spree

MAB the developers of Haystone Business Park in Westmeadows in conjunction with the landholder have gone on a culling exercise of kangaroos to the dismay of the local residents. The residents heard shots and were concerned that the shots were from other activities, but found out and without any consultation that kangaroos were being shot. Although this was done in accordance to the regulations the residents and council should have been notified in an act of transparency. The council released a statement this week.
