From Socceroos to Drive throughs

Hello Hume’ns (The awesome people of the Hume area)

This week is a historical one for a couple of reasons. We also found that if you wanted to do a few different things then you would be spoilt for choice. 😉

In this week’s Humepulse edition:

  • A rescue shelter that needs rescuing.

  • Hume has a Socceroo as a resident.

  • Roxburgh Park makes History.

    and more …..

Hume Local Heroes

We look for positive role models and stories of Awesome people in Hume. This weeks story should be made into a movie if you ask me.

A Socceroo in Hume

I found this story watching an acknowledgement speech by Cr Kurt in this weeks council meeting and it needs to be shared. Hume is home to a Socceroo Aziz Behich. A born and bread Awesome Hume’n from Meadow Heights. His story is one of failure , rebuilding himself, taking opportunities abroad to hone his skills and then triumphing to deliver the winning goal to put the Socceroos into the World cup. Aziz Behich we salute you and congratulate you on your success. To see his full story [ watch here ]

Last weekend saw the grand opening of the Wolfe Cafe in Coolaroo. Of course I had to go and see if it was any good. I can tell you the food was delicious and the cold press juice that I ordered was packed with goodness. I walked out feeling like I was energised and had full belly. I recommend trying out the shakshuka [ INFO ]

Calling all Young & Teenage Actors

This came across my desk and thought why not share it to give the area an opportunity not usually seen around this neck of the woods [ INFO ]

Wine and dine in Broadmeadows

This hidden gem of a restaurant in Broadmeadows is a secret not many people know about, well now that I have told you all, everyone will know. At the back of Kangan Tafe is Richards Restaurant where students get to build their culinary skills and we get to taste some fine dining. Why not treat yourself to a local experience like no other and not to mention it’s value for money. [ INFO ]
