Local Elections
That annual decision we all had to make, But did you notice it was different?

Who is representing us this time round?
As you may have seen placards with faces attached to fences, walls or anywhere there is a visible place with traffic all yelling out for our attention.
So who is really representing what matters to us locals in the Hume Area? There are more unfamiliar faces than normal and the long serving candidates have been challenged to make way for new ones. Lets see how they perform within the new system of representation?
Hume carved up into 11 wards.
The state government chose a new way to have a councilor represent a small part of the LGA (local Government Area). Whoever you voted for, you can now hold them accountable for your area. The reasoning for the change is that we have an expansion in all areas of the Hume municipality. A lot of new building in the Mickleham/Craigieburn suburbs all the way up to the Kalkallo area, which is dubbed our new growth corridor.
It seems like a good idea. What do you think?
If you want to have a look at the info I found click here .(Just click on the Hume city Council link on the page).
Whoever you voted for we all have to wait at least until the 11th November. I wonder who is our new representatives? If you want more information then just click on the Council website here.

Kickin Inn Cajun Seafood has come to Broadmeadows
Get ready to try a new experience never really seen in these parts of Hume before. The new restaurant has opened at Broadmeadows Central just near Hoyts Cinemas. Are you a Seafood lover? Or maybe a lobster and few Prawns? The range of seafood is quite impressive and not to mention the sauce combinations. You can have mild sauce to seriously hot and everything in between. Broadmeadows is quite lucky for such a restaurant as there are only 3 locations across Melbourne.
Treat yourself to a new experience try Kick Inn and let everyone know on the socials.
Craigieburn Central recently acquired 3 new restaurants
China Bar
With its roots starting in Lonsdale St and then going on to be an institution across Melbourne. We have come to know what good Chinese food is and at an affordable price. Everyone has their favourite dish and now we don’t have to travel too far.
Marrybrown
The world’s largest Halal fast food restaurant chain has landed. This new restaurant is all Malaysian cuisine fast food style, from burgers to Crispy fried Chicken. It looks like KFC have got themselves a new competitor.
San Churros
When you need a sweet fix Spanish Donuts are the answer to a craving buster. If its a smooth hot chocolate and cinnamon crusted churro your looking for. The El classico is your best choice. San churros has a range of other treats if that is what your after?
