Fix It Fair
Hume Council are holding this event for the first time. I am familiar with repair cafes which happen every month via community groups, but have never seen it delivered as an event. So what is the Fix It Fair? It is a free community event that is designed to help residents extend the life of household items, save money, and reduce waste going to landfill.
Full of free demonstrations held on the day, you can learn some of these types of topics.
Start composting like a pro
Pickle your kitchen scraps
Repair wooden furniture
Save seeds for your garden
Make your own eco-friendly cleaning products
Support local wildlife in your backyard
And plenty more!
For more about the event and its details. [ INFO ]
Council Events Calendar
We thought we would add events that are free or cost very little to attend. Check out the Council Calendar for this week [ INFO ]

Humes Local Heroes
Each week, it strikes me how generous this area is. I discovered that we all have a big heart and support those in need. Why I am blown away is, we have locals going above and beyond for others. The Hume area has a generous spirit, and nobody points that out. Thank you, Awesome Hume’ns.
