Hello Hume’ns (The awesome people of the Hume area).
This year Cupid has gone a bit sporty. From parkruns to galentines challenges, there seems to be a few different events on the agenda. Having Valentines fall on a Saturday the night is held for lovers to spend a romantic dinner together. If the Valentines thing is not for you, well at least there are some things you can do on the Sunday. Whatever is your thing have a great weekend.

Deputy Mayor Milestone
This week Deputy Mayor chaired her first Council Meeting. I must say, that this weeks meeting was a little light on substance and the only thing i thought was worth writing about was that the deputy presided over the council going to government, to tackle the tyre fire problem Hume has faced over the years. It wasn’t the only issue but this one stood out to me the most. Congratulations Deputy Mayor. [ INFO ]
Broadmeadows gets an upgrade
This week Cr Karen Sherry and Ian Walters Labour MP announced that the Broadmeadows Dog Park will be getting an upgrade. The project will cost $265,000 Dollars and will be completed by Mid year depending on Weather. The park will be closed for this lenghth of time but you can still walk your dog in the off leash area on John ilhan memorial Park.

Team Harley in the Running Again
We featured this awesome Hume’n when he was raising funds for White Ribbon Australia, about mid last year. Harley raised more than his goal by a massive amount (see here). He is such an inspiring young man and he is now up for another award, the 7NEWS Young Achiever Award.
