Hume Council News & Events
Council strike workers update
1000 Council workers from the various councils that are in dispute over pay negotiations, assembled on the Parliment steps on Tuesday May the 05th. The timing of the rally coincided with the state budget hand down. The workers are seeking a better deal that has been dragging on for 18 months. The Action caused library programs in Hume to be cancelled and the Craigieburn library closed its doors early. No bins were collected in Hume during the 24-hour stoppage and will be picked up this Saturday instead. [ INFO ]

You may not understand what they are saying but you know you are being invited to share. That’s what Shanglish is. This culinary experience will be like no other. Originally from Sydney the owners have brought the lebanese cuisine to our fine area, to showcase the best of what they do, with the hospitalty and warmth of good friends. They open on the 14th of May at Broadmeadows Central, and after seeing some of their decor it will be a popular spot. [ INFO ]
