Hume Tastes, Tune & Treasures Market
This is the second season for this market in Craigieburn. Last year the weather dealt them a harsh blow on a few occasions but that didn’t stop them from supporting the local community. Now they are back for a new season to offer a market that creates family fun, entertaining music and stalls that are unique and not seen elsewhere in the area. They also have a great selection of food stalls and food vans so you can do some weekly food shopping and grab a bite to eat as well. If you're looking for a Sunday activity then this is the market that ticks all the boxes, make sure to go and check it out. See you there. Greenvale gets a new suburb
The green light has been given to build a new suburb called Greenvale North. It is supposed to join greenvale to Craigieburn. If you think Mickleham Rd is busy now i hope they widen it in time to accommodate the extra 300 homes. The Plan includes new local parks, community facilities, walking and cycling paths, plus open spaces designed around the area’s landscape and heritage. Building will start by the end of the year. Pickleball championship
What is Pickleball? It is an easy sport that is taking over the world. Sunbury have only recently started to offer pickleball and it has grown to a spot where they now have enough people to hold a championship. If your looking to stay fit and active but don’t want an activity that is strenuous on the body then pickleball is the sport for you. The best part is, it’s easy to play and for any fitness level. Humes Local Heroes
Each week, it strikes me how generous this area is. I discovered that we all have a big heart and support those in need. Why I am blown away is, we have locals going above and beyond for others. The Hume area has a generous spirit, and nobody points that out. Thank you, Awesome Hume’ns.
Winners are just Winners
This local hero Caden Newitt was diagnosed with a brain tumour at age 12 back in 2023. Caden contacted the Dodgers Basketball Club in Sunbury asking if he could coach a junior team in 2025. He took on the coaching role of an U12 team in Div 4. After 3 wins in the first 3 rounds, his team was promoted to Div 3. After finishing 3rd on ladder, last week, Dodgers U12 Boys CN won their way into the grand final. [ info ]
Mental Health & Suicide Awareness Week Events
This week is Mental Health and Suicide Awareness Week and it’s a topic that we all shy away from at times. Awareness and Support is so crucial when the dreaded black dog touches you on the shoulder, or you know someone who has gone further and taken their own life. Find your group, it’s easier then doing it alone and on your own.

Restaurant pick of the Week
Pizza Bar 91
I found a slice of Italy in Airport west. This little modern restaurant/pizza delivery place has some of the best pizza in Hume. I know this is a big claim but I have never met a more passionate chef who cares for pizza dough the way he does. His commitment to perfecting his technique shows when you take a bite, it is what a pizza is supposed to be. To top it off I had cannoli for dessert and when I took a bite into the crisp shell I got a mouthful of ricotta with citrus and chocolate chips, it was sweet but not sickly sweet just a beautiful balance of flavours. Another thing I need to mention is the service. We were made to to feel like we were family and you don’t get that very often. The pizza, great service and cannoli combination will send you home with a smile on your face for the rest of the weekend ready to tell your friends you found a new place. Real food done with passion, care and great ingredients. Highly recommend!! [ INFO ]
